CEC certification is the Appliance Efficiency Regulation implemented by the California Energy Commission on December 30, 2005. The purpose of this regulation is to improve the efficiency of electrical products, save energy, reduce gas emissions and the greenhouse effect.

As more and more electronic products appear in daily life, "saving energy" will become an urgent issue that everyone must face in the 21st century. The California Energy Commission will implement a new mandatory standard for the energy efficiency of AC-DC and AC-AC external power supplies on July 1, 2006. At that time, almost all electronic products will be affected.

The standard will cover all products that use external power supplies (such as chargers and adapters), including mobile phones, home cordless phones, portable music players, handheld game consoles, toys, etc., and requires these products to be in standby and in use. Use energy in a more efficient way.

CEC certification standards:

In addition to saving energy, the CEC's new norm will also have a major impact on the environment. According to the company, if all California's external power supplies comply with the new standards, California will be able to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 360,000 tons each year, an amount equivalent to the annual emissions of 60,000 cars.

The regulation stipulates that electrical products must first meet the equipment energy efficiency regulations when they are sold in California, the regulation stipulates energy efficiency index requirements, measurement methods and phased implementation plans for 58 categories of electrical products. According to the requirements of this regulation, electrical products must be tested by a qualified laboratory in accordance with the corresponding regulations or standards in the United States, and they can only be sold in California after they are certified to meet the requirements.

CEC certification 58 products can be summarized as follows

Chargers: such as Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth speakers, smart bracelets, laptops, mobile phones, tablets and other products with small-capacity batteries;

Power supply: external power supply, power adapter;

Consumer audio and video equipment: products such as set-top boxes, monitors, DVD players, etc.;

TV set

Lamps: bulbs, lamps, etc.;

Home appliances: refrigerators, air conditioners and other products;

So how to deal with CEC certification? CEC certification registration steps

1. Provide prototypes for laboratory testing;

2. Laboratory test completed;

3. The laboratory issues a test report

4. Laboratory registration with CEC

5. Case closed
