What is PSE certification?  

1. Introduction to PSE Certification

PSE certification (Product Safety of Electrical Appliance & Materials) is a market access system implemented by the Japanese government for electrical and electronic products, and is an important part of Japan's "Electrical Product Safety Law" (referred to as "Electrical Safety Law" DENAN). On April 1, 2001, Japan revised the Electric Safety Law, managed by METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), METI does not directly issue certificates, but authorizes third-party certification bodies to conduct product conformity assessment tests and issue certificates.

PSE certification is Japan's mandatory safety certification, which is used to prove that electrical and electronic products have passed the safety standard test of Japan Electric and Material Safety Law (DENAN Law) or international IEC standards. Japan's DENTORL Law (Electrical Device and Material Control Law) stipulates that 498 kinds of products must pass safety certification to enter the Japanese market. Among them, 165 kinds of A-type products should obtain the diamond-shaped PSE mark, and 333 kinds of B-type products should obtain the circular PSE mark.

2. The scope of PSE certified products

To date, a total of 457 products are under the control of the Electrical Product Safety Act. Among them, there are 116 kinds of products that are easy to cause electric shock, fire and other accidents, and there are 116 kinds of products that are classified as "specific electrical products - called Class A electrical products", such as chargers and adapters; the remaining 341 kinds of products are less harmful Classified as "non-specific electrical products - called Class B electrical products", the vast majority of large and small home appliances, lighting products, and lithium batteries belong to Class B.

3. Application process

1. The customer prepares samples, applications and documents to the laboratory;

2. The laboratory conducts the test, and if it is a PSE round, a declaration letter will be issued by the laboratory;

3. For PSE rhombus, factory inspection is also required;

4. After passing the test and factory inspection, the issuing agency will issue the PSE diamond certificate;
