What is IC-ID authentication?

IC is the English abbreviation of Industry Canada and the abbreviation of Industry Canada. IC specifies the testing standards for analog and digital terminal equipment, and stipulates that the wireless products sold in Canada must pass the IC certification. Therefore, IC certification is a pass and a prerequisite for wireless electronic and electrical products to enter the Canadian market.

According to the standard RSS-GEN developed by IC and the relevant requirements in the standard ICES-003e, wireless products (such as mobile phones) must meet the relevant EMC and RF limits, and meet the requirements of SAR in RSS-102. Taking the GSM850/1900 module or mobile phone with GPRS function as an example, there are RE radiation harassment and CE conduction harassment tests in the EMC test. In the evaluation of SAR, if the actual use distance of the wireless module is more than 20cm, the radiation safety can be evaluated in a manner similar to the MPE defined in the FCC in accordance with relevant regulations.

Its responsible products are generally radio and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunication equipment, engineering and medical equipment, etc. Similar to the FCC in the United States, IC currently only has restrictions on electromagnetic interference.

General regulations: Only EMI is mandatory, and the certification method is the same as that of FCC. Three methods of self-verification, conformity and certification can be used.

IC ID: CN (Company Number, up to 6 digits) + UPW (UniqLle Product Number, up to 8 digits) Free application, but must have Canadian representative address information.

Wireless products need to apply for IC (ID) wireless IC certification. If the customer does not have a record in the IC, the time will be 5 working days longer than usual.
